History
glenburn
  • Guests are advised to carry sun block, sunglasses, sun hats and insect repellant (for the camp site/river areas). Due to its mountain location, mosquitoes are not a problem here. However, there can be mosquitoes and midges down by the river. Regular spraying takes place to combat any possible 'pest' problem that arises and mosquito coils are plentiful.
  • Guests will require warm woolens during the winter months and a light sweater/wrap in the summer/monsoon months when temperatures could drop after rain.
  • Raincoats are advisable during the rainy months
  • Good hiking boots are recommended for your comfort although regular walking shoes will also suffice. Slippery soles are not advisable.
  • Rubber/canvas shoes are useful when paddling in the river
  • A good camera, as Glenburn is really a photographers' dream!
  • Paints, brushes and notebooks - also available in our shop
  • The trout-fishing season at Glenburn starts in early October and runs through until about March. If you are a keen fisherman, we would recommend that you carry your own equipment, especially flies, plugs and spinners. We do keep some basic tackle, but can't promise it will match your own.
